Panic attacks can be excruciatingly painful to live with. People suffering panic disorders or panic attacks tend to avoid any situation that involves what they see as a perceived danger. Fortunately, there are several medications available for you to overcome panic attacks by your your physician’s recommendation. Azapirones may be one of the choices. However, I never warmed to overcome panic attacks by taking medication. I’m not in any way implying that taking medication is wrong. In fact, it can cause a lot of side effects that will make you feel if these drugs are actually making your condition worse.

If you really want to overcome panic attacks, but not just to stop temporary relief from the physical bodily symptoms. Then it’s important to understand that panic attacks are caused when your mind perceives certain situations and events as potential dangers and triggers a flight/fight mechanism in the body. So the first step to overcome panic attacks is to understand that it is a mental condition and it has nothing to do with treating the physical sensations. You need to now take ownership for the fact that it is your responsibility to re-train your mind into perceiving them as harmless situations and anytime a situation is to come by, it needs to be looked on as a blessed opportunity to overcome your panic attack. This empowered attitude, will put you right on track to meeting anxiety at its tracks and stop letting it ruin your life.

Further, you might already have realized that most of the anxiety is caused by fear of a panic attack coming rather than the actual panic attack itself. Just the thought of a possible panic attack might send your body in shivers. Once you accept yourself for what you are with all the panic attacks and anxiety disorders, you are just getting ready to meet anxiety in its tracks.
